Birthday Party

This past week was my birthday and Paul planned and pulled off a surprise party for me. I can't believe that I didn't find out or that he didn't give it away. When I walked into the party room at Bertonlini's I was so surprised. There was a large group of my friends there with their spouses and we all had dinner together. There was even a special menu with my name on it, Paul really did good. We had dinner, laughed, opened presents and just had a great time. It was a diverse group of people, but it didn't matter everyone seemed to enjoy themselves.

I had been a little bugged with Paul all day because I thought he had forgotten my birthday. He was so busy with work that he hadn't really even talked with me all day long. He did a great job at keeping this one a secret; usually I know what he is up too.

Afterwards we came home and I opened up some new stuff for my kitchen...Yea! I needed new pots and pans soooo bad. It was such a great birthday. My boys had made birthday signs the day before and put them all over the house the night before. There was even one in my car on the windshield.

Water balloon fight at Lego Land

One of the highlights of our trip to California was Lego Land. According to the boys in our family the best part of Lego Land was the Water Balloon Launching Huts. Paul and Jacob were a team and they took on Tyler and Andrew. Each team had two large sling shots and stood inside a wood hut with a bucket full of water balloons. The team that soaked the others first won! They had an absolute blast even though they were wet for the rest of the day.

Summer Project

Summer is here and it is really hot! It has already been up to 110 degrees and feels as if it is getting warmer everyday. We have been spent a lot of time in the pool, but our favorite time to swim is as night when the sun is going down and it is not directly blazing on your body.

During the day it is really a challenge not spend too much time in front of the TV, computer or any other electronic device. Practicing the piano and doing chores only take up so much time in the morning, so I have been trying to get creative and find some fun things to do to with the boys. Yesterday we made pumpkin bread for Pack Meeting and it was so good even though there were different amounts of flour in each batch. We decided that we wanted to find some more yummy treats to learn how to make this summer.

Never the less, this afternoon we were looking for something to do and Jacob asked me why we didn't have a blog? I couldn't come up with a very good reason to satisfy him; when they were little it was so much easier to come up with a quick answer. So I told Andrew and Jacob to pull a chair up to the computer and we would figure out how to create our own blog. I am not as computer savvy as the rest of the younger generation, so with some help from my friend Kelli and some trial and error........here it is OUR FAMILY BLOG!
